Award Application Guidelines

The LOS GATOS MORNING ROTARY CHARITABLE FOUNDATION is a
charitable trust, which awards grants and scholarships from the proceeds of its
annual fundraisers. A Board of five elected Trustees operate the Charitable
Foundation.

THE PURPOSE OF THE LOS GATOS MORNING ROTARY CHARITABLE
FOUNDATION is to provide funding for the support of youth, the humanities,
sciences, music and the arts in the greater West Valley area of Santa Clara
County; to support international projects in coordination with the efforts and
purposes of the Rotary Foundation of Rotary International; and for other publicly
beneficial projects as the Trustees of the Foundation may determine appropriate.

LOS GATOS MORNING ROTARY CHARITABLE FOUNDATION IS SEEKING
APPLICANTS FOR 2012 SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM. A total of up to $10,000
will be awarded for scholarships in June, 2012. Two $4,000 scholarships will be
awarded to Los Gatos High School students, in memory of Mark Bingham and
Todd Beamer, United Flight #93 heroes of September 11. A $2,000 scholarship
will be awarded to a Los Gatos student at Westmont High School.

SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATIONS will be accepted from January 2013 through
April 3, 2013. The application form will be available at the Los Gatos High
School Career Center and through the Scholarship Chairman at Westmont High
School. Scholarships will be awarded based on the following Criteria:

  • Anticipated degree of success (based on GPA and transcript)
  • Contribution to high school program (student resumes)
  • Financial need (based on submittal of a financial statement)
