Award Application Guidelines

The LOS GATOS MORNING ROTARY CHARITABLE FOUNDATION is a charitable trust, which awards grants and scholarships from the proceeds of its annual fundraisers. A Board of five elected Trustees operate the Charitable Foundation.

LOS GATOS MORNING ROTARY CHARITABLE FOUNDATION IS SEEKING APPLICANTS for the Los Gatos Morning Rotary 2010-2011 Grant and Scholarship programs. A total of up to $8,000 will be awarded for grants in April, 2011. Two $4,000 scholarships will be awarded to Los Gatos High School students in June, 2011, in memory of Mark Bingham and Todd Beamer, United Flight #93 heroes of September 11.

THE PURPOSE OF THE LOS GATOS MORNING ROTARY CHARITABLE FOUNDATION is to provide funding for the support of youth, the humanities, sciences, music and the arts in the greater West Valley area of Santa Clara County; to support international projects in coordination with the efforts and purposes of the Rotary Foundation of Rotary International; and for other publicly beneficial projects as the Trustees of the Foundation may determine appropriate.

GRANT APPLICATIONS should be submitted between November 4, 2010 and the deadline date January 14, 2011. The grant criteria and limitations are detailed in the Grant Application. Questions? Contact Charles Buxton at cgbux@aol.com

SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATIONS will be accepted from January 25, 2011 through April 1, 2011. The application form will be available at the Los Gatos High School Career Center. Only Los Gatos High School students are eligible to apply. Scholarships will be awarded based on the following Criteria:

  • Anticipated degree of success (based on GPA and transcript)

  • Contribution to high school program (student resumes)

  • Financial need (based on submittal of a financial statement)
