AWARD APPLICATION GUIDELINES
TheLOS GATOS MORNING ROTARY CHARITABLE FOUNDATION is a charitable trust, which awards grants and scholarships from the proceeds of its annual fundraisers. A Board of Trustees including five elected trustees operate the Charitable Foundation.
LOS GATOS MORNING ROTARY CHARITABLE FOUNDATION IS SEEKING APPLICANTS for the Los Gatos Morning Rotary 2008-2009 Grant and Scholarship programs. A total of up to $6,000 will be awarded for grants in April, 2009, and up to $6,000 in scholarships will be awarded in June, 2009.
THE PURPOSE OF THE LOS GATOS MORNING ROTARY CHARITABLE FOUNDATION is to provide funding for the support of youth, the humanities, sciences, music and the arts in the greater West Valley area of Santa Clara County; to support international projects in coordination with the efforts and purposes of the Rotary Foundation of Rotary International; and for other publicly beneficial projects as the trustees of the corporation may determine appropriate.
GRANT APPLICATIONS should be submitted between November 13, 2008 and the deadline date February 9, 2009. The grant criteria and limitations are detailed in the Grant Application. Questions? Contact Art Adams at ArtA@heffgroup.com
SCHOLARSHIPS APPLICATIONS will be accepted beginning on January 21, 2009, and the application form will be available online or at the Guidance offices of local high schools. Scholarships will be awarded based on the following Criteria:
- Anticipated degree of success (based on GPA and recommendations)
- Contribution to high school program (student resumes)
- Financial need (determined from financial need statement)
The applicant's eligibility will be determined by the Los Gatos Morning Rotary Scholarship Committee and will be based on information submitted on the following application forms:
- Los Gatos Morning Rotary Scholarship Application (2 pages)
- Submittal of a financial statement verifying financial need (optional)
The Deadline for submitting Scholarship forms is Friday, April 10, 2009 – at 4 PM Submit to your High School Scholarship Committee Chairman.
